Party Planning
As we go into September and a new school year begins it’s the perfect time to get organised. Sorting out your child’s birthday party is one of those tasks that can feel overwhelming, especially if left to the last minute so why not plan it now? To help you get prepared here are my top 3 party planning tips so you can start the school year as you mean to go on; in control!
1. Don’t do it alone
When you know what needs to be done, it is tempting to do it all yourself but sharing the workload reduces the risk of burnout. You don’t want to put yourself in a situation where you are so stressed that you can’t actually enjoy the party.
Make a list of what needs to be done and highlight what you really want to do yourself. The rest can be shared out among trusted family and friends. Alternatively you could enlist the help of a recommended party planner to take all the stress away.
2. Take advantage of technology
We live in a world dictated by technology so why not use it to your advantage. Save yourself the time writing invitations by creating a Facebook event. If you don’t want to use Facebook there are fantastic online invitation software systems available that will not only make inviting people easier, but it will keep track of who has replied and who is actually coming.
Also consider that you can do a lot of the shopping for the products and services you need online using your phone. You don’t even need to break a sweat; you can get organised with your feet up and a glass of wine in your hand!
3. Consider the entertainment
Booking your entertainment in advance is very wise; the popular choices get booked up fast. Remember that for two whole hours you are expected to provide all the fun, bored kids are not a great party accessory! What you decide upon will depend on the venue and size of the party but be sure to check that they are fully insured.
And most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy it. Your child’s birthday marks the day they came into your world and changed it forever. It’s a time for you to celebrate too!
